Champagne Jacquesson : the cuvees launched in 2020

One cuvée per year ! This is the choice of Maison Jacquesson, to create the very best only. A unique blend, representing almost the entire production of the domain and completed by some reserve wines. A late disgorgement cuvée and the Lieux-dits cuvées are available every year too. Jacquesson selected 3 lieux-dits in 2009 :  Dizy Corne Bautray, Avize Champ Caïn eand Ay Vauzelle Terme.

Cuvée 743

12 months in casks on lees, 36 months (minimum) bottled on lees, 6 months (minimum) of calm before disgorgement, the cuvée’s launch begin more than 4 years and a half following the harvest. Grapes are sourced from the 3 Grands Crus and 2 Premiers Crus of the domain, and it is elaborated from first press juices only. This cuvée 743 without dosage, comes from the 2015 harvest in Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvilliers (60%), Avize & Oiry (40%). This cuvée 743 develops a powerful and gourmand nose. The splendid palate is characterized by a nice and stretched mineral frame. It offers an absolutely fantastic tension and precision.

 

 

Cuvée 738 Dégorgement Tardif

Cuvée 738 Dégorgement Tardif (late disgorgement) is sourced from September 2010 harvest. Following 96 months on lees, the Late Disgorgement is carried-out on June 2019. This rare jewel (14.910 bottles and 741 magnums only) is elaborated from a blend composed of 52% Chardonnay, 24% Pinot Noir and 24% Pinot Meunier. This wonder offers a nose of cooled riped apples, slightly spiced, lemon and sea breeze. This champagne is pure and elegant.

The cuvée from the Lieux-Dits represents the recognition of the very specific character of this particular terroir.

 

 

Cuvée DIZY – Corne Bautray 2009

Cuvée Corne Bautray 2009 is a Blanc de blancs, non dosed champagne sourced from the little village of Corne Bautray, south-west facing where 1 hectar of chardonnay was planted in 1960. Even rarer than cuvée 738 Dégorgement Tardif, this one is produced in limited quantity: 5.172 bottles and 300 magnums only. 

 

 

 

Cuvée AVIZE – Champ Caïn 2009

For this cuvée, Chardonnays were harvested on September 18th 2009. 12.000 of this white grape variety were planted in 1962 on a 1,30 hectar plot. The 10.306 bottles and 395 magnums are characterized by their great delicacy. The cuvée has been bottled on June 3rd 2010, and the disgorgement was conducted 9 and a half years later. The result ? An Extra-Brut champagne, with a light acidulous touch on apples and citrus, and a powerful salinity. A cuvée of terroir.

 

 

Cuvée Aÿ – Vauzelle Terme 2009

This beautiful Blanc de Noirs cuvée, without dosage, is sourced from a small plot of 30 ares, planted with 2500 Pinot Noirs plants in 1980. Vintage 2008 received the incredible note of 19,5/20 in the guide Revue du Vin de France ! This cuvée clearly deserves this distinction. The 2.522 bottles and 155 magnums offer a nectar of an incredible volume and an endless length in the mouth. The nose unveils dried fruits and quince aromas, while the palate offers an unctuous frame, and a long final which brings a very pleasant minerality.
